The process
Each coin is forged from a single piece of solid brass, Then, a force patina has been applied over several weeks. The patina has darkened the background and really brought out the unique colours of each coin. Then we've polished the high spots back out to make the artwork pop again and then finally a protective clear coat to seal the patina in.
Each coin is unique and so each one has been photographed and listed individually
The message
Hold fast, bear down and fight through the storm.
To hold fast means to hold onto the lines fast when the ship is aloft in bad weather, so sailors would not be thrown off.
These words serve as a special reminder to hold on and persevere during tough times.
It is also a constant reminder to believe in yourself, your ideals and your principles.
To fight through adversity and be proud to have the strength to be your own person, no matter what life throws at you.
